Bark & Fitz for you and your dog, set up shop in Westboro Village on April 11th 2005. Any BARK & FITZ retail store you walk into is definitely like nothing you have seen before. Using keen aesthetic principles and performing countless hours of research, the team at BARK & FITZ has scoured the globe for what we feel are the most beautiful, entertaining, durable and most nutritious products that you will find.
BARK & FITZ Westboro is a family owned business whose main focus is simply to provide pets and their owners with the absolute best products available. We carry products that not only make pets happy but can also compliment your home décor and look good too!
Lynne & Jean-Marc were window-shopping back in July of 2004 in old downtown Oakville. Seeking shelter from the rain they ducked into a shop whose door was propped open with a dog statue. Within minutes of being immersed into the Bark & Fitz experience they both knew that Ottawa was in dire need of such a shop that offered specialized products and services for dogs and their masters.
They bought into Mike & Jamie Fitzpatrick’s company which now boasts fifteen franchises which includes the original flagship store in Oakville Ontario. The Fitzpatrick brothers grew Bark & Fitz from a concept into a successful business by owning & managing the Oakville store while personally involving themselves with the planning and set-up of each of their franchise stores.
All of the Bark & Fitz stores are family run and Bark & Fitz Westboro is no exception. The Grandmaitre couple own & manage the store while two of their three children work part-time in the customer service department. Four dogs are also part of the Grandmaitre family and most times at least one of the dogs is spending time at the store meeting & greeting customers and begging for treats.
Staff
Lynne, the owner and operator of Bark & Fitz Westboro owns two dogs, Shiraz a 4 year old black standard poodle and Stella, a 2 year old miniature wirehaired dachshund.
Amanda our manager, owns two great danes Duke and Bosco, a boxer named Angel and Minou the lone cat.
Darby, our head groomer, owns two cats Sebastian and Oscar and an almost 2 year old shihtzu Bogart.
Alison our customer service expert, spends time with her family’s shelties Raven and Lacey as much as she can since moving into her own appartement.
Dani, part time customer service expert hopes to own a big dog when she moves into her own place but for now she helps out with caring for Shiraz and Stella.
Kylie our newly appointed head groomer, will someday have a house full of short hair and smooth coat pets that she won’t have to groom! Kylie is replacing Darby during her maternity leave.
Eric and Eldar who both work part time at the store, own Kini a 4 year old fawn pug.
Rolph, our proffessional dog walker, walks Stella, Shiraz, Kini, Bogart, Duke and Angel anytime these staff dogs are working at the store. Rolph ensures that they do their business and picks up after them without fail. We are so very lucky to have Rolph as part of our staff; he takes such good care of our family dogs.
